Guide for Authors

We appreciate your interest in contributing to Iranian Political Studies. For a smooth and speedy review process, your submission should follow the journal’s requirements.
Language
The manuscript should be in clear and concise English, using proper American spelling.
Format
Manuscripts must be submitted in Word format, using Times New Roman 12pt. font, and pages should be numbered at the bottom, starting with the title page.
Length
The manuscript should not exceed 10000 words, including references, notes, acknowledgements, figures, and tables.
Title
Manuscripts should be headed by a clear, concise and informative title. .
Authors’ names and affiliations
Authors' full names (first names followed by surnames) and affiliations, in the order that reflects the nature and extent of their contribution, should appear after the title. The corresponding author’s contact details should come in the footnote on the first page.
Abstract
An abstract of no more than 200 words should be provided in a clear and concise format that particularly covers the main question, method, key arguments, and research outcome.
Keywords
Three to six keywords should be provided just under the abstract, for the indexing purpose.
Introduction
Introduction touches upon the scope and significance of the research at hand by summarizing current understanding and background knowledge about the topic, and also states the main question and the structure of the manuscript
Acknowledgments
Authors may include a statement to appreciate those who assisted them with the work or provided them with grant support. This part should appear at the end of the text before references
Quotations
Use single quotation marks for short quotations and double quotation marks for a quotation within a quotation. Long quotations do not require quotation marks, but should be indented.

The journal only accepts the APA citation and references style, 6th edition, available at APAStyle or Citation Style Chart

Transliteration
Authors should follow the

Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, …). Captions and legends should be typed single-spaced separately from the figures.
Abbreviations
Abbreviations should be defined where first mentioned in the text.

Assessment Procedure
Submitted manuscripts are first considered by the editor or the editorial board to assess their compliance with the journal’s scope and guidelines. Manuscript passed the initial assessment then undergo a blind review by at least two referees assigned by the editorial board. Reviewers’ judgment and comments form the basis for the editorial board’s decision on the manuscript.
Publishing Ethics
Authors are required to strictly adhere to common publishing ethics practiced by the academic community worldwide. They are particularly asked to refrain from plagiarism in any form, and disclose any multiple manuscript submission.
